Shamanism – The Path

Peter Bowden (Wombli Mahtu) is generously passing on Shamanic wisdom and teachings that he has culminated over the last 35 years. This is a unique opportunity to learn directly from an elder in Australia who has intimately studied under traditional wisdom keepers of native tribes in Canada and Mexico; Cree and Apache, an Inupiat elder from Alaska, and various other traditional teachers from around the world. Peter is himself an indigenous man of Australia and holds great reverence for the land of his ancestors.

These offerings are a culmination of Peter’s life’s journey and his connection to this path and his teachers, whom have now all passed from this world.

Traditionally, knowledge of the shamanic way is passed from elders to the apprentice; through story, shared experience and initiation into sacred processes, often not documented anywhere. Many of the teachings Peter will share throughout this program cannot be found in books. This is why Peter feels it is so important, as an elder himself now, to pass this knowledge on to those who will preserve and honor the lineage of the teachers who have impacted his life in such a profound way.

 Choosing the shamanic path is a sacred service to your soul path and humanity, it is a privilege and no coincidence when we find our teachers and elders to support and guide us on this journey. These offerings are Peter’s legacy, he is extending this heart offering as a contribution to Mumma Earth and all relations.

This is a rare offering to attend an intensive 4-day Shamanic Ceremonial Live-In Retreat. Tucked away in the enchanting Numinbah Valley, just 40 minutes, 39km from the Gold Coast Hinterland lies the aptly named ‘Solitude Retreat’. Surrounded by secluded rainforest, rich in nurturing energy and untouched beauty.

We will commence our journey with an Opening Ceremony and creating our sacred altar for the 4 days. Each day will be welcomed in with Shamanic movement practices and honoured with a sacred fire; sharing, drumming and releasing around the sacred fire in the evenings.

 Throughout this retreat, you will experience numerous shamanic ceremonies and journeys; integrating a wealth of shamanic teachings. Opening and challenging you through expansive realms of self-discovery.
